Irish TV Need Not Apply

One of the best shows on TV is Copper.  Set in the 1850's in the slums of NYC with all IRISH characters and realistically shows how bad Irish immigrants had it when they got off the boat.  It was one of BBC Americas highest rated shows and they cancelled it!!!  WHY??  Copper was one of two Irish shows on TV and now it's down to Ray Donovan on Showtime.  Which is excellent.  Why are there not more Irish TV shows?  Based on the millions of people who claim Irish roots and one show to watch??  When I win the lottery it will be Irish TV Need To Apply!!!

TALENTED TUESDAY

Robert Sullivan "Sully" 1983 Milwaukee Brewers Team Picture.  Dad was the Equipment Manager since 1971 until he died in 1985.  I have a great collection of his baseball memories.  Dad is second row on left ..third man in.  He always loved the road.  Never wanted to be a 9 to 5 family man.  My Mom had a hard time understanding this being a single parent.  Now that I am older, I get it.  I also have the traveling gypsy bug and could actually hop in the car or a plane and go to some unknown destination.  Little crowds or people of course!!!

SPORTS CENTER SATURDAY

My father was an amazing athlete.  He graduated Brookline High School in 1960 so this basketball picture could be from class of 1958, 1959 or 1960.  Robert "Sully" Sullivan is #32 and 2 guys to the right of center.  Dad was 6'2 or 6'3 and he seems so small in this picture.  I would LOVE to complete the rest of his team members names.  BROOKLINE HIGH SCHOOL PLEASE HELP WITH NAMES!

Thankful Thursday

My first meeting with my dad, Robert John Sullivan.  I was born in February 1967 and this picture was taken while he was home on leave from Viet Nam.  How handsome he was.  He always reminded me of Robert Redford.  This picture is one of my MOST VALUED treasures since I knew he took the time to visit his daughter.  My parents divorced shortly afterward and never lived together.  Dad wanted to be a father in name only and not be tied down.  This may be the only picture I have of him visiting me until I was around 7 years old.  I will look again thru my photos and make sure.  It is a THANKFUL THURSDAY today...
